Carbon Credits
In order to control green house gases associated with burning fossil fuels, the concept of carbon credits has come into existence. Since algae fix carbon dioxide in the photosynthetic process and can utilize emissions in this process, they reduce greenhouse gas emissions and will ultimately be eligible for carbon credits which can be sold. SunEco’s initial calculations indicate the Carbon Credits to be around 800 metric tons per acre-foot per year. The company will be engaging appropriate agencies shortly to certify these figures.
